It’s graduation time and I love seeing all my friends post pictures of their children graduating high school, college, and grad school. It’s an extraordinary time for any graduate. A time full of relief, pride, anticipation, reflection, and a focus on the future.
Increasingly, I have been seeing a greater number of older adults achieving their educational goals. As someone who didn’t take the traditional route to higher education, I applaud this.
Yes, graduation is a time to celebrate and I love all the pomp and circumstance that surrounds it. This time of year, makes me feel young again and reminiscent of when I began to forge my own path and discover the real world.
To the Class of 2025, this is an incredible time in your life. Take it all in, don’t rush it. Countless experiences await you which will influence your future self. It won’t be a smooth road with a clear destination, but always remember the endpoint is happiness.
Time will fly! I know you don’t believe it right now, but trust me, it will. Savor the good times, learn from the challenges, have confidence in your abilities to always work out a problem, step outside your comfort zone, appreciate your loved ones, and have fun!
